Europrim, Ahlers Rise to Challenge, Beat Russian Winter
It is our pleasure to announce that after negotiations which took place over several months, Ahlers selected Europrim Shipping team to be their exclusive Romanian partner for transshipment and handling of project cargo in Constanta.
The entire project secured and executed by Ahlers consisted of over 62.000 cbm of mainly oversized equipment for sulphur recovery plant in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, Russia. This equipment was transported by 4 sea vessels which transhipped in Constanta and loaded onto 9 river vessels to Nizhnekamsk. Upon arrival to Nizhnekamsk, cargo was reloaded on over 900 trucks for delivery to the final jobsite. Sourcing was done from 14 locations and 7 different countries, but main equipment and majority of the cargo was originating from Malaysia. Overall operation was under very tight schedule, because completion had to be done before end of the navigation season on the Volga river. Finally, everything was completed in the space of 25 weeks.
Main reason for successful execution of the project is that Ahlers had chosen the right partners for the project. One of them was Europrim who was directly responsible for strictly following the deadlines and arranging all the necessary formalities for safe receiving and reloading of the equipment on 9 river vessels in Constanta. Besides these activities, Europrim was also responsible for terminal handling (shifting the cargo to make sufficient space for smooth and timely receiving of all the equipment to the terminal), customs formalities, planning, preparing and optimising stowage plans and lashing onto the river vessels. Finally, Europrim team has also provided full ship agency services to shipowners in Constanta, so that operations were carried out with maximum efficiency despite the hostile weather, the out-of-gauge parts and the tight schedule. The deadline set by the agreement to tranship the cargo was fully met, thanks to the commitment and professionalism of the Europrim Constanta special projects team who were 100% dedicated to this project. This confirms that Ahlers chose correctly when selecting Europrim as partners.
